Commerce and Trade Minister Piyush Goyal held a gathering with numerous business associations to debate methods to scale back imports within the vehicle business and enhance localisation of auto elements.
The ministry is working to push native manufacturing in a number of different sectors, together with furnishings and ACs, and cut back imports from nations like China.

Mentioned methods to scale back imports within the vehicle business and enhance localisation of auto elements to advertise Make in India,” Goyal mentioned in a tweet.
In 2018-19 India imported auto elements value USD 17.6 billion, of which 27 p.c (USD 4.75 billion) had been from China.
The most important element imports from China embody drive transmission and steering elements, digital and electrical gadgets, cooling techniques, suspension and braking elements.
